Belfast Firm, a small-sized industry was approved by the UK's Health and Safety Executive (HSE), for its innovative technology on asbestos cleaning safely from roofs. Patterson Protective Coating noticed there was a market for asbestos removal of roofs after it did research and found that in the UK and Ireland combined, there are approximately 30 million acres of roofs which contain asbestos. The company expects there will be a large demand for its revolutionary system, which is able to remove corrugated asbestos cement in a safe manner from roofs. Owner Alvin Patterson said the process of asbestos removal from roofs has up until now been extremely dangerous and interferes with the daily activity that occurs in and around the building being cleaned. He said the company's system uses an encapsulation method which allows the asbestos to be contained and the cleaning to go on without disturbing the client's operation. He added that the "zero risk" system also saves companies a lot of money compared to the old methods. |
